Day 1 without chocolate and lent is already not doing me any good. I have already eaten 4 blueberry muffins and 2 bags of crisps. Surely a bag of maltesers would have satisfied my need to snack??

At the end of the day, chocolate makes me feel better, and on shitty days like today I wonder why anyone would give that up. Muffins, on the other hand… Bleugh. I had to eat them just to get them out of my sight.

In the spirit of procrastination, I have gone and created a blog. I was always against blogging, partly due to the stupid way you have to say “blogging” and partly because I never thought people actually read anyone’s blogs. Then again, that part isn’t really important is it? Blogs aren’t designed for people to read about fascinating stuff their friends and vague acquaintances have been up to lately. Its more made for people to rant about stuff. I’m pretty sure when I was about 13 I vowed never to be a blogger. But what the hell. I’m throwing out all the rules now.

There are lots of things I said I’d never do, but some of them have turned out alright. Guess you never know until you try it. Hence I am now a self-proclaimed “blogger”. Maybe I will use this blog to write some interesting social commentary on the current political situation in Lybia. Or I could write some meaningful shit about the meaning of life…Not likely. I’ll leave that for the people who think everyone gives a fuck about their opinion. Lets face it, mostly when someone asks, and what do you think we should do about this incredibly serious situation?, they really just want to tell you what they think. People think they are so subtle at getting questions in that will lead them to be able to talk about themselves, but you can always tell. Its pretty embarrassing. Maybe thats why they invented blogs - so no one has to ask. And no one has to respond with a delayed, “oh really? Thats nice”.

If you should spend 5 minutes of your life reading my blog then thanks, I hope you find something more fulfilling to do very soon. New and wittier posts shall come in time, with something worth reading in them maybe. I think I will quite enjoy this. But the day you catch me following rihanna on twitter is the day you must take my laptop away from me.
